Chinese New Year at Yauatcha

Yauatcha is a Michelin-starred dim sum teahouse from London and is present across India; Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi and Kolkata. Aimed to be an affordable luxury brand, Yauatcha is a Modern Cantonese restaurant and believes in upholding their standards and quality to ensure the guests have a wonderful experience.
Chinese New Year is an important Chinese festival celebrated at the turn of the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. It is also known as the Spring Festival, the literal translation of the modern Chinese name. Celebrations traditionally run from the evening preceding the first day, to the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first calendar month.

On this occasion Yauatcha celebrates Chinese New Year with a Signature menu for Asian food lovers. According to the Chinese zodiac, 2016 is the year of Monkey (Fire Monkey) starting from February 8, 2016 (called the Lunar Chinese New Year or Chinese Spring Festival) and lasting to January 27, 2017. Thanks for the invitation to explore the asian cuisine and share the love of food.

I have not to mention they are very good at their dumplings. But they served Cherry Chaser as the Alcoholic drink from the menu. So nice of the drink you can feel the cointreau taste so well balanced.

Chicken Coriander dumplings - was just awesome with potato starch, wheat starch on the outer layer. For colour you are seeing on the dumpling got from the red cabbage water which was added to it.

Truffle & English carrot dumpling -  is next in the command to relish me which is made with truffle and carrot with the layer of potato & wheat starch. For natural colouring chefs very smartly used the dill extracts to the outer layer to make it green.

Seafood Shui mai – at its best because of the tailed prawns I must say. But that is not only the tasting agent in this they have Sea Bass, Scallop, Prawn and Crab meat in this to charge your taste buds. Please gulp it with the tail of prawn then only you will have the exact taste of the dumpling.

Lobster ho fun roll with black pepper sauce - Ho fun is nothing but in house noodles freshly made with rice flour. They stuffed lobster meat in between served with some well balanced I must say black pepper sauce. You will love it.

Corn Carrot & Curry dumpling – you will find some diced carrots with corn. Some good quality curry powder from Malaysia used in this. Apart from that you can taste the coconut milks flavour which is one of my favourite.

Stir fry mock chicken in Hunan style spicy sauce – Mock means nothing but duplicate the only has chicken but not the dish. In this they made replica of chicken with soya so good for vegetarians.

Toban Fried Rice – made with preserved chilli sauce with yellow beans.

Mahlak Udan Noodle – Udan is a Japanese noodle which is served with a spicy sauce called Mahlak. The noodles you will find somewhat flat.

Braised Pork Belly in Spicy Yellow Beans Sauce – is one of the eyes Catcher of the event especially for meat eaters. Its prolonged cooking technique makes it so tasty and sees the caramelised texture. You have smelt it before passing through your mouth.

Crunchy Caramel with Honey Comb Ice Cream – Nothing I have to say about this.  Just out of the world sorry I don’t have words to explain the taste now I am feeling while writing also. Creamy texture with the chocolate looks so nice so good for all age group.
